Team Building: Discovering the key to team success
The study of teams, collaboration and group dynamics has been explored by experts in organisational behaviour for years. As times change and workplaces too, diversity and digital influences are changing how we connect. Different generations, different communication delivery, different backgrounds and new working conditions [like when we get struck by a global pandemic!?]. Some things stay constant, some things adapt with the times. Here at the Amazing Team Challenge, our Team Building events incorporate the new with the old during our Amazing Race around the Melbourne CBD, in order to help build 4D teams - diverse, dispersed, digital and dynamic. “we’ve found that three of Hackman’s conditions—a compelling direction, a strong structure, and a supportive context—continue to be particularly critical to team success. In fact, today those three requirements demand more attention than ever. But we’ve also seen that modern teams are vulnerable to two corrosive problems—“us versus them” thinking and incomplete information. Overcoming those pitfalls requires a fourth critical condition: a shared mindset.”
